New Pool Construction Project in Ballantyne Country Club
Construction is underway and a lot of progress has been made at this new pool project in Ballantyne Country Club. We have completed the layout, dig and steel phase, as well as, the concrete shell installation phase.
The rough plumbing is also complete, including the plumbing for the in-floor cleaning system. A 4″ gravel base has been spread on the bottom of the pool to keep the area clean and to provide a good foundation for the concrete shell. 3/8″ rebar is used on the walls, while 1/2″ rebar is used on the floor, all tied 12″ on center.
We shot the pool shell using 4,000 psi shotcrete, which is a mixture of portland cement, aggregate (rock) and water all mixed together and pumped from a concrete truck’s barrel mixer to a concrete pump. The shotcrete is pumped through a 2 1/2″ hose that has a compressed air nozzle where the shotcrete is then pneumatically applied.
Here is the completed shell, with 12″ thick walls and 8″ thick floor.
The next phase of this project is plumbing.
Now is a great time to build a pool!
